THE HEAD OF SUMY REGION STATE ADMINISTRATION YURIY CHMYR HAD A SUMMIT MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF NIGERIA IN UKRAINE IBRAHIM KASAJ

During the meeting, held on April 20, in the context of the official visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria in Ukraine to Sumy Region, the first-priority directions of cooperation were determined.

In particular, they discussed the cooperation in such areas as importation of fertilizers, equipment for oil-and-gas producing enterprises and vitaminized flour from Ukraine to Nigeria. In his turn, Ibrahim Kasa j assured that Nigerian companies are ready to supply Sumy with cocoa and olive oil.

Since considerable scientific potential is concentrated in Sumy, Yuri y Chmyr ' stressed that Sumy Region is open for cooperation in the educational sphere . Moreover, today there is a successful experience in this field . Thus, 128 citizens of Nigeria study at Sumy State University, 38 of them - at medical institute of the University – and they not only get medical profession, but also learn the Ukrainian language and traditions, and spread Nigerian culture.

"I hope that our meeting will help us expand the range of business cooperation and build up cultural contacts and friendship of our peoples," - the Head of Sumy Region claimed referring to Mr. Ambassador.

During his visit Ibrahim Kasa j visited JSC " Sumygazmash " , JSC "Science-and-Production Corporation named after M. Frunze " , " Sumyfitofarmacia " Ltd and Sumy State University.
